We first stayed in Paris three years ago and I haven’t been able to quit thinking about it since. Some places have the ability to make you feel at home when, in reality, you’re thousands of miles away from home–that’s the way I feel about Paris. There are so many reasons to fall in love with this city; after two trips, I still feel that I’ve only just begun discovering them. We wanted our second trip to be a balance between revisiting all of our favorite places and seeing things we didn’t have the chance to see the first time around.

We hit the ground running the moment we arrived in Paris. Although it was late afternoon, we already had an idea of what to do and where to go so we didn’t waste any time getting there! Navigating Paris is a breeze thanks to the easy-to-use metro system. We get the multi-day passes and either ride the metro or walk everywhere. On our first full day in the city we got up early expecting rain, but it turned out to be a perfect day for exploring. Our first stop was to Trocadéro where you’ll find one of the best Eiffel Tower views in the city. During our previous trip to Paris Trocadéro was closed for renovations, which was a huge let down. I was so excited to finally hang out here…we ended up going multiple times almost every day, because why not?! Aside from the amazing views it’s a really nice place to sit down in the grass and relax. Later in the day, and especially in the evening, it’s completely filled with people so it’s best to go early in the morning if you’re hoping to take pictures. Once it gets dark be sure to come back to watch the Eiffel Tower’s light display.

One of my favorite walks is from Trocadéro to the Eiffel Tower, and then all the way down the Champs de Mars. We stayed in this area last time and found some good places to eat. We stopped for lunch at Café des officiers before heading to Montmartre. Tyler and I ordered the soupe à l’oignon gratinée and the croque madame, both of which are some of my favorite Parisian café foods. Afterwards we took the trains to Montmartre, another area that we were unable to see during our last trip. Be prepared to be met with crowds on the way to Sacré-Cœur. Nonetheless, it’s all worth it when you reach the top of the hill and have a panoramic view of the city. The streets of Montmartre are adorable and I’m hoping that when we return again we will have more time to spend here. Every day that we were in Paris it was forecasted to rain all day, so we were always trying to rush from one place to the next.

This geo lace dress was one of my favorite outfits of the trip and was great for sightseeing. I paired it with my go-to blush cardigan to combat the unpredictable weather. It ended up being a beautiful day and I was left with so many special memories. Subscribe to Monde et Mode to see more posts on Paris. I’ll be talking about where to eat, what to see, and where we stayed next time 🙂
